Banana Wafer Dessert

40 vanilla or chocolate wafers
1/3 cup margarine, melted
½ cup sugar
¼ cup cornstarch
2½ cup milk
3 beaten egg yolks
4 oz. white chocolate, finely chopped
1¼ tsp. vanilla
4 medium bananas
1 cup whipping cream
2 tbsp. powdered sugar

Crush 30 wafers into fine crumbs. Mix crumbs and margarine until tossed well.
Spread into 9" pie plate and press bottom and sides evenly; cover and chill.

For filling: Mix sugar and cornstarch in saucepan, stir in milk. Cook and
stir over heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook and stir 2 min more. Remove
from heat. Stir 1 cup of hot filling into yolks Pour yolk mixture into
hot filling in pan. Bring just to boiling. Reduce heat; cook and stir
2 minutes more remove from heat. Stir in chopped white chocolate and 1 tsp.
vanilla. Stir until chocolate melted.

Slice 2 bananas onto the chilled crust. Spread half of filling over all. Layer remaining
chocolate wafers on filling. Chop 2 more bananas and place on wafers.
Cover with rest of filing. Cover and chill at least 4 hours.

Before serving; combine whipping cream, powdered sugar and ½ tsp. vanilla into
chilled bowl. Beat until stiff peaks form. Spread whipped cream over pie.
